Noon Update - Tue.

I just talked to the doctor who had originally told me Kate would be here for many weeks. He said that he is very encouraged by her sudden drop in fluid output but that some patients level off and drain 50cc's a day for weeks and weeks. So, he warned that although it is encouraging to see the fluid output slow down, it doesn't necessarily mean that she will go home soon.

So...we will just take one day at a time and see what God has planned for Kate!

Well, I suppose it's best to guard our hearts and to trust the doctors...BUT God may have different plan for Kate! Allowing her to leave the hospital WAY sooner than anyone expected.

Who knows! All praise to Jesus either way.

Hi Karin,
Just wanted to tell you that i was nervous when my Kate left PICU too.But i found that everything was just about the same as far as level of care. Your nurse is just a button-push away and she can see all of Kate's monitors from her station. She will know if something is wrong before you do probably. You may also find that more privacy is just what the Dr. ordered. I was pleasantly surprised when we transitioned. Hope this is an encouragement to you.

Karin, that's great news that she's slowing down the fluid output. And your right, just take one day at a time.
Hope your power cord comes quickly!!! If Mark can help in that area just holler. :)

Love you, Meredith

We will keep praying! SO glad to hear all the updates today. I hope that the chest tube removal went well and that Kate settles in her new room! We'll be praying for God's perfect timing as well.
Praying for you today as well Karin, that God will give you some really sweet moments with Kate that will reassure her of the love you and your family have for her and that will it continue to grow and blossom even in these trials!
Blessings,
gayly

I'm so glad Kate is draining less now. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers more than you would believe! Sending much love to you all, and hoping that Kate is soon feeling much better and can get those chest drains out. With love XXX

There are big things planned for Kate. It's hard to not want to think about getting home. One day at a time is good advice, but I understand dreaming about getting home. Don't be afraid to rely on the staff once you leave PICU. The nurses are amazing. Be sure to share pictures of her new room. Lots of hugs and prayers!!!

Oh Karin,
I am so thrilled that she is doing so well. She looks wonderful in her sweet little picture....although you know her best, the look seems to say, "let's bust out of her not just the PICU."

I love that you are keeping us all informed. It would drive me crazy not to be "hearing" from you..

Love and prayers continuing,
Linny
