Dots and Arm Dangle

Woohoo! We don't care about our arm dangle, 'cause we are lovin' life!

I seriously would like to know how I went from a scrawny-armed, 30-something, to a 40-something with droopy arm dangle. I noticed it the other day. Eeek...

Several weeks ago, my daughter was telling me about a little girl at school who had dots in her cheeks. I told her that those are called dimples and that I had them as well.

"Where?" she said.
"Right here, see?" I smiled.
"Mom," she said, looking genuinely puzzled, "You don't have dots. You have lines."

I rushed to the bathroom, looked in the mirror and flashed myself a smile. Sure enough...no dots. Instead, those cute little dots had been replaced with inch-long LINES.

I have no idea when I went from dots to lines... It seems to have happened overnight. Still...I wouldn't want to go back in time to get those dots and scrawny arms back. I like being in my 40's, even with my lines, arm dangle, and other not-so-lovely body changes! A friend of mine once shared an amusing quote, "I'm still hot. It just comes in flashes now." haha

I posted that last line on one of my blog posts when I began Lupron treatment. (I'm 34 and now on chemically induced menapause)
I was informed by a fellow blogger that they are called "power surges" now, not hot flashes.
whatever :)
I am learning that as I get older, my beauty draws more and more from my heart...which is a scary thought sometimes too!
Many blessings to you.

Ha--arm dangle???? Where in the world did you come up with that expression???? You are toooo funny. I am totally laughing my head off here.

Ug, the LINES. I am so with you. Heck. They have crept up on me, and I'm not even 40 yet. Nasty! I told my hubby I'm totally going to be a prune by the time I hit 50!

I turned 40 last year and didn't even care. My 41st bday is less than 2 weeks away and I'm starting to freak. It's silly. Your attitude is marvelous. Having toddlers around definitely keep the spirit young!!

Good Morning,
I am with you on the "arm dangle".
I use to call it dough on my grandmother's arm because it was pasty white and had the consistency of bread dough. Although i do not look forward to the day when i am sporting my own "dough", it does provide a sweet memory of my grandmother. The way i see it, if we all keep adopting babies and toting them around, we will have arms of steel for years. Yet one more blessing of adoption!

He-he! I love that phrase "arm dangle." I am going to use that. Just like I heard one person say that we aren't fat we are "fluffy." So much easier to handle. Yes, I am loving my 40's but mostly because I am in denial about being in my 40's. I used to tell people, "I am 29." But as I approach 45, I think I better raise that to "I'm 35." 29 might be getting a bit beyond believable. :)

I recently had a facial and it did wonders for my lines. My skin was glowing so much that I didn't really notice them even though they were still there. Plus, one hour on the table having my face cleansed, exfoliated, moisturized, and having my neck, arms, and hands massaged - that was a sheer joy.

My 11 year old daughter informed me that I had wrinkles the other day. "I just wanted to let you know," she said. Thanks honey!! LOL!
