It was around 70 today and pretty windy so the lake was too cold. We tried and quickly left. Our own yard was going to have to be good enough. Kids can always find something to do. Especially mine.
There was the incredibly thrilling Big Wheel Drop, which involves hopping on board a plastic toy and hurtling down a hill at top speed.
"OK--we are all set. Someone move the big rock away from the back wheel so we can go!""We don't need no stinkin' roller coasters!"
Different trip down the 'mountain' but the same thrill
Doesn't this just make you want to be a kid again? Just for a few minutes? If you know...you could skip junior high and large portions of high school.
Miss Katie-bug cannot participate in such raucous activities due to her coumadin usage, so she played on the swings during the Big Wheel Fun. She asked Zoey to twist her swing and Zoey was happy to oblige. It was so sweet!
"Are you ready, Katie?"
"Wheeeeeee!" Not sure who is enjoying this more!
And then there was the Extreme Outfit Trashing--Sandbox Edition...
Although Jake has no health restrictions for wild activities, he prefers those that will score him some loot, (such as Mommy's make-up, big sisters' candy, etc.). So rather than join the Big Wheel Event, he opted for the sandbox, where he decided to 'build her a cake.' (that was for all Nacho Libre fans)Then it was back to the swings for some relaxation
Not a care in the world...just the wind blowing through my hair
And last but not least, it was time for some Off-Roading. Er...well...I don't know what it would be called when one substitutes an uber-cool 4-wheel drive vehicle for a cheap plastic big wheel, but humor me here.
Gettin' ready. Wait for it...wait for it...
Are you feelin' it?
Oh, folks, there has been a wipe-out. Thankfully, the driver appears to be alright, although perhaps shaken up. Or perhaps not.
He's back up and finishes with a flourish
And that completes our day. Not a single thing got packed. I did manage to get to Target to shop for a few items to complete certain offspring ensembles. However...I have a long way to go before I will have everyone ready to get on a plane next week.
