I Really Should Be Packing

Normally, I would be snoopy dancing over the beautiful weather we are having but man, it is putting a serious crimp in my plans. We are going to Disney next week for SaraGrace's Make-A-Wish trip. I have been going through the kids' clothes to see who has something decent to wear and who needs some new things. But...the warm weather. Must.follow.the.invisible.pull.

It was around 70 today and pretty windy so the lake was too cold. We tried and quickly left. Our own yard was going to have to be good enough. Kids can always find something to do. Especially mine.

There was the incredibly thrilling Big Wheel Drop, which involves hopping on board a plastic toy and hurtling down a hill at top speed.
"OK--we are all set. Someone move the big rock away from the back wheel so we can go!"

"We don't need no stinkin' roller coasters!"

Different trip down the 'mountain' but the same thrill

Doesn't this just make you want to be a kid again? Just for a few minutes? If you could skip junior high and large portions of high school.

Miss Katie-bug cannot participate in such raucous activities due to her coumadin usage, so she played on the swings during the Big Wheel Fun. She asked Zoey to twist her swing and Zoey was happy to oblige. It was so sweet!

"Are you ready, Katie?"

"Wheeeeeee!" Not sure who is enjoying this more!

And then there was the Extreme Outfit Trashing--Sandbox Edition...
Although Jake has no health restrictions for wild activities, he prefers those that will score him some loot, (such as Mommy's make-up, big sisters' candy, etc.). So rather than join the Big Wheel Event, he opted for the sandbox, where he decided to 'build her a cake.' (that was for all Nacho Libre fans)

There were lots of cakes made today. I know this because I was asked to sample each and every one. Now I know why all my Tupperware bowls are disappearing...

Then it was back to the swings for some relaxation

Not a care in the world...just the wind blowing through my hair

And last but not least, it was time for some Off-Roading. Er...well...I don't know what it would be called when one substitutes an uber-cool 4-wheel drive vehicle for a cheap plastic big wheel, but humor me here.
Gettin' ready. Wait for it...wait for it...

Are you feelin' it?

Oh, folks, there has been a wipe-out. Thankfully, the driver appears to be alright, although perhaps shaken up. Or perhaps not.

He's back up and finishes with a flourish

And that completes our day. Not a single thing got packed. I did manage to get to Target to shop for a few items to complete certain offspring ensembles. However...I have a long way to go before I will have everyone ready to get on a plane next week.

You've probably heard that you're old homestead area rec'd snow flurries yesterday...went down to 32 degrees last night, and looks mighty cold and dark this morning. Oh, for some sunshine and heat! I just love Zoe's zest for life...what a smile she has. If she was tall enough, she'd probably be on Space Mount@in next week! Have a great time!

Adorable photos! Of course, you can't go wrong with the subjects at hand!!! The heck with packing. Just throw in some Mickey ears, shorts and t-shirts and you're good to go. Maybe you and Jeff can wear those bride and groom Mickey ears and pretend like you're on your second honeymoon! ha ha ha

The photos are great! Thanks for sharing! Let me offer something we learned on our Make-a-Wish trip...If you are staying at the Give Kids the World Village, the Wal-Mart on the corner where you turn to go to the village has a HUGE Disney section! Compared to the park prices, everything is a STEAL! We found this the next to last day we were there. By all means, check it out before you go to the parks and start wanting to buy all that tempting stuff!!! HAVE FUN!!!
