Let it Snow!

We finally got some snow today! We woke up to it and the kids were chomping at the bit to get out and play.

I do not function well in the morning. And they wanted to get all their snow stuff on when my coffee cup still looked like this.

Not nearly enough caffeine consumed to get me down the basement searching for matching mittens. Ya know?

However...the little buggers were persistent.

So I got grumpy.

Just keepin' it real because I don't want to make it seem like all is sweetness and light around here every day. The truth is that I wanted them to wait a few hours and I was seriously annoyed.

However, after watching them play in the snow, it did raise my spirits as I saw how much delight it brought them.
Getting thwacked on the back with a snowball

Eating a piece of ice from...where?

After watching the kids play for a bit, I went in to check on Zoey. Sweet girl was looking longingly out the window at everyone.
Well, that was just sad. So we asked her if she wanted to go out and play. Um...yeah! As long as we could keep her cast dry, I decided to get her out there.

I think she liked the idea!

She had to sit in the sled the whole time, but she didn't complain at all.

Jake...don't eat yellow snow okay buddy?

Still smiling after being outside for over an hour. She said she wasn't cold but I finally had to force her to come inside so she didn't get hypothermia.

After that, we came in and made cookies but I will have to post those picture another day.

Awesome snow pics. West MI has been missing all the big storms this year. I'm ready for more snow. Our first Christmas home with Josie was a fingertip/shoulder cast for her hand surgery and it was a pain for outdoor winter play, but it was so worth getting her outside with a bit of creativity. Can't wait to see cookie pics!

Luv the pictures. Silly to say but I luv the "non matching" jammies. I put them together in the drawer but they rarely get on in a matching pair.

Kids are great aren't they...I remember giving my Mom fits about going out to play in the snow...but they're all having so much fun Mom...LOL So happy Zoey was able to go too...the happiness just radiates from all your kids!!!

Oh wow, such fun! But you are a way better mom than me. Hands down. There's NO WAY I could have been talked into going out into the cold before a mega-mug of java had been successfully consumed.

Hurray! You finally got snow (as we Southerners chuckle with glee since we BEAT YOU THIS YEAR!) My kids don't have matching mittens or snow gear so I just let them run outside in whatever they have on when the first flake starts falling! You have to do that down here otherwise you'll miss the entire snow event putting on your 'gear'. :)

What fun, though I'm glad the snow did not hit here...just don't tell my kids I said that. :)

How fun! No snow here, but it does feel like a Florida Christmas.

Looks like fun! Love the truthfulness! And love, love, love the mismatched pjs on Zoey. I thought we were the only family that did that! Did you get my Christmas card? No??? Let me tell you why....because my act is so far from being together. It is coming as soon as we can get a photo of ALL the kids at one time. Got yours and loved it!
Merry Christmas!!!

Oh beautiful little Zoey...that pic of her watching out the window would have about done me in. So glad she got to go out and have some fun too. I LOVE her smile, friend.

Stunning pics of your treasures.
