Awesome Christmas Gift Idea

I have a fabulous gift idea if you are still looking for a gift for your kids, your child's teacher, a friend, a family member...the list is endless.

A friend of mine has written a beautiful book about a little girl with Downs Syndrome. The story is 'written' by her older sister, who describes what life is like at her house. It is a very sweet book that handles the topic very honestly. Some things about having a sister with Downs are frustrating and some things are wonderful.

My favorite quote from the book is at the end, after big sister describes the joys and irritations of her little sister. She says, "I wish everyone had an Alicia May. But then Alicia May wouldn't be special, would she?"

The illustrations are gorgeous! Seriously. Take a peek.

Every page is more beautiful than the next!

Even if you do not have a child with Downs in your family, it's still a valuable tool to teach our kids about others who have special needs. This book does a great job of teaching that kids with special needs are just like everyone else. They just have some challenges that not everyone has.
And guess what? The book--which is a beautiful hard cover with a jacket--is only
$10, plus shipping!!!

Yes...that's right. I couldn't believe it!

If you would like an autographed copy, you can visit the author's website {below} and make your request. And any of you who know the folks at Reece's Rainbow...feel free to let them know about this book. It is truly a treasure.

Thanks for posting this info Karin. I've been out of the loop the past 4 days so it's nice to see how everyone in blog-land is doing. The last post on Zoey was sweet and honest. I have days (especially lately) where I want to sob for 20min. without a good reason. :)
Have a great rest of the week!
