Sweet Summer Days

I cannot believe it will be July next week.  Cannot.
It seems like we have been waiting forever for summer to come back and now it is slipping past us way too fast.

What does your family love about summer?

Some of our favorites are:
Eating dinner outdoors on our deck
Corn on the cob
grilling out
swimming at the Y
sleeping in
playing in the sprinkler
riding bikes and roller blades
the beach
Basically anything we can do outside...even weeding.

Notice how Jordan never stops eating his corn in these next two pictures.  Priorities, People! And I love how Jake's tongue is hanging out as he tries to put bunny ears over Kate's head.

Jake's dirty feet.  No clue why he decided to lay on a chair and stick his feet in the air.

How can it be August already?

Summer is flying by and it seems like we just got started. Wah...

This will be the summer we remember as being spent at various doctor's offices. Jordan went for a CT scan on Monday to see if he has an ear canal. We are excitedly waiting for results. He sees the surgeon in Sept. to discuss what to do about opening up the ear so that his cochlea on his right side will be able to be in use.

Tuesday we went to the orthodontist with Jillian to get started on braces. She is nervously excited and is scheduled to get them put on next week. Jordan will also have an outpatient surgery next week in an unmentionable area.

Whee....

And I thought we would be going to the beach this summer.

Today I get to go and have a mammogram..can't wait.

We finally have some grass--not a lot, but enough that we decided it was time to get the kids' swingset and sandbox set up. The kids have been troupers about only having riding toys to play with in the driveway all summer, but they were getting bored.
"Wook, Mom, see what I can do!"

"Me, too! Wook at me!"

Even the big kids like the sandbox. It's a good place to pretend you're on a cooking show.

How many kids can you fit in a sandbox?

Apparently not all of them...Jordan uses all three swings at the same time while his siblings play in the sand.

Jake contemplates his navel.

And last but not least, thank you so much to my friend, Lynsay, for designing a new banner for the blog!
