Summer fun

Our city had some pre-fourth of July fireworks this weekend, so we decided to take all of the kids. This is the first time we have let the little ones stay up late for this event, so they were excited. They had never seen 'real' fireworks before--only the small ones that older brother, Taylor, shoots up on the 4th. Everyone except Jake loved them. Jake shook and cried and began urgently saying, "Bye-bye, bye-bye!" Since we were sitting right next to our car, Jeff put him in his carseat in the car--and every time we tried to coax him out to sit with us, he started screaming. At one point, we got him out and tried to show him how pretty the fireworks were, but again, he began yelling, "Bye-bye, bye-bye." We gave up--and put him back in the car, where he was much happier. Chloe, SaraGrace and Jordan, loved watching them, though, so it was a successful night!

Ryan, Shelby, and Shelby's brother, watch from the top of his truck cab.

Taking refuge in the back of the van during a brief rain

Watching the fireworks from the bed of big brother, Ryan's truck.

Jordan actually RIDES it this way!! No clue how he came up with this odd position.

"I've been working out!"

"Yeah...me, too."
