Much Better Day Today

Today was a much better day for SaraGrace. She woke up like this:
And that is pretty much how the day has gone. She had a lung scan yesterday and an echocardiogram today. Both results were good. Hooray!

She still doesn't have much of an appetite yet, but I'm sure it will return soon. She is quite infatuated with the newborn baby roommate that we got last night. He is so very tiny and just had heart surgery a week ago. She is amazed by his tiny feet and hands and pronounced him 'adoryable.'

He is adorable, although I'm not really looking forward to another night of lying awake listening to his monitors beeping and the flashing light from his mom's TV in my face. {She kept it on all night, presumably for the background noise?}
Like I said, sharing hospital rooms should be illegal. His mom is very sweet, so no issues during the day. It's just night time that I am dreading.

BUT....

We are going home in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So only one more rotten sleep and then we will be able to be in our own beds.

I was trained to administer SaraGrace's IV meds and it doesn't seem too hard as long as I remember all the steps.

Today was a nice opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with SaraGrace. After which she pronounced me the best mom...the perfect mom. I looked at her strangely because she has never said I am the perfect mom. She grinned at me and said, "You are! You're da perfect mom. You don't have issues."

Snort! Oh my gosh, I was cracking up! Somehow I doubt she will be thinking that when she is a teenager.
You just never know what is going to come out of that girl's mouth!

The tech who inserted the Picc line gave her his special marking pen for skin yesterday and she put it to work today. I especially like the happy face she drew on her heel.
